This week, I tried to glue my set together. I used PVA glue Elmer’s glue which was suppose to glue the Styrofoam together but it didn’t work. The glue didn’t dry up as I hoped it to. I let It sit for two days and still didn’t work. The glue started dripping onto the floor and making a mess.

So I went to Walmart to get the adhesive spray but I’m not sure if it will hold it either. We will see. The spray adhesive was very stinky.

I think it worked better than the PVA glue though.

I think I need to make the characters smaller because they will be too tall for the wide shot and they will look like giants.

I also bought 1lb of wool to use that I am going to dye them and use it for the sky and for other parts of the design.

My next steps for the summer would be to complete the background and redo the characters. Then work on the rest of the sunflowers. Then I should be done and I should be able to start filming it.

My Brother is going to help me with composing the music and the sound design.

This quarter was a lot of researching and finding the right materials. I didn’t think it would be this much work but I also had to figure out a lot of things.

Things I learned this quarter is

  1. How to needle felt.

  2. How to dye felt or Any fabrics with hot water or cold water

  3. How to create the sunflowers even though I bought the wrong type of wool, I was still able to reuse it

  4. How to create the background to make it look 3D

  5. I also learned a lot about carding the wool

  6. How to layer the sheets and make own felting sheets

  7. How to use 100% wool sweater to turn it into a felted sheet

  8. How to create an armature doll

  9. Learned how to save money as wool is very pricey

There was a lot of learning curves and lots of mistakes I’ve made but it was a lot of fun.
