This week I haven't worked on any designs for my background.

I was planning to visit my friend Shannon on Sunday to work on the character, but I didn't order any wool to work on it. I was planning to buy them on Paradise Fiber as a lot of the wools were on sale, but I didn't buy them because I am on a budget and I wanted to be more conscious about the prices before committing to buy it. Even with the discount, it's really expensive.

I called a store in Atwater which is near Merced. I was going to Merced over the weekend as my partner's family has a house there. When I called the store they told me that I can use wool yarn instead to create the felted wool which is essentially cheaper.

So I waited till his weekend to go to Merced to get the wool yarn to test out. If it works, then I have successfully found a way to save money on a budget. I will return the ones I got from Amazon and get as refund because the felted wool I bought online isn't a lot and wool yarn is about $7 for 100 grams which is about 3.5 ounces. 3.5 ounces of Felted wool is about $8. It's about $3-4 for 1 ounce of felted wool for higher quality wool which can be found on Paradise Fiber. For 8 ounces its about $24.

I hoping this experiment works and I can felt the wool to my own liking.

I went to a store called Hobby Lobby and it's like Michael's but it was cheaper than Michaels. I was able to buy a large felted sheet 12" by 18". I plan to use the light blue for the sky for daytime, and the dark blue for nighttime. I was able to also get 9" by 12" for the sky when it's dusk and evening. I thought it be a pretty cool transition between dusk and evening and golden hour.

Here are the materials I've bought
